Are You a Visionary?

Visionaries are the beacons that bring necessary changes in the business, public and non-profit sectors that solve critical problems we face.   Moreover, it has always been the visionary who has generated transformations that have made the world better. They are the ones that disrupted the status quo and ushered in new ways of being, new ways of relating to each other, new technologies and other significant advancements.

We can point to many obvious ones, individuals like Martin Luther King, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Nelson Mandela, Howard Schultz, Clara Barton, Fred Smith, and Herb Kelleher.   However, there are many visionaries out there who are less known and they exist in every corner of the globe.

I have had the great fortune of supporting many visionaries to take bold actions to turn their visions into reality, including:

  • A senior partner in a big four accounting firm, who built a national consulting practice that took accounting principles to help her clients measure and reduce their carbon footprint.
  • A Chief Legal Officer for a Fortune 1000 company, who transformed the way they deliver legal services to their internal clients that drastically cut the expense of delivering those services while enhancing the view of the legal staff as trusted advisors.
  • An entrepreneur, who built a technological solution that solved the challenges volunteer organizations face in attracting, signing up and retaining their volunteers.
  • A CEO of a mid-market media consulting company, who realized the potential of their business and engaged this vision to successfully increase the value of their services and to ensure they would attract and retain the best talent to deliver those services.

Others I have worked with, had a vision for a greater impact in their career and I was honored to assist them in realizing their career vision.  There are many more stories that I could share.  The point is there are many visionaries out there who aim to make our world a better place and my greatest passion is being able to support them in their success.

The question is, are you a visionary?  Do you have:

  • An ability to see what is possible beyond what others see in a domain of business, the public good, politics or another area of life?
  • The skill to recognize what has to happen to close the gap between your vision and the current reality?
  • A brilliant intellect and a blazing heart that fuels an unbridled passion for realizing your dream?
  • A desire to continuously learn what you must and the ability to organize your learning to inform their vision continually?
  • An excitement about your solution that is contagious and the ability to enroll a tribe of enthusiastic believers.
  • The willingness and determination to do what it takes to turn your vision into reality.

If you resonate with those qualities, you are a visionary, and I would suggest you review more of the resources available on my site.
